Complete Dentures

Complete Standard Dentures in Grande Prairie, Alberta

Complete dentures are dentures that are made when a patient has lost all of their natural teeth. We offer 3 options for complete dentures:

Dentures

Standard Denture

We offer a quality standard denture made with basic tooth shades and shapes.

Standard Dentures with High Quality Teeth

We also offer a standard denture that is made with high quality tooth shades and shapes. With this option we offer more choices for the shade and teeth used.

Equilibrated Denture

This denture is more personalized and provides superior fit, function, comfort and esthetics. These dentures require more appointments to complete, but offer the highest quality of denture available in our clinic.

Every patient has a different situation and different needs. We recommend booking a free consultation with one of our denturist to see which option will work best for you.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are constructed before your remaining teeth are extracted. These dentures are inserted the same day as your teeth are extracted.

Advantages

Disadvantages

Enables you to return to work promptly

Possibility of more frequent visits for adjustments and liners

Protects the tissues and extraction sites in the mouth

Possibility of more frequent visits for adjustments and liners

Promotes even healing

Not able to see the appearance before dentures are made

Post-Immediate Dentures

Post-immediate dentures are constructed after your teeth are extracted and your gums feel comfortable enough to take impressions. This period is usually 2 weeks but could be shorter or longer, depending on condition of the mouth.

Sometimes oral tissues on fresh extraction sites simply do not like the pressure of hard acrylic touching them. These patients may need tissue conditioners or may have to wait months for their gums to "toughen". Sometimes you may need to receive bone reduction treatment from an oral surgeon.

Advantages

Disadvantages

Able to see appearance of teeth before we process them

Possibility of more frequent visits for adjustments and liners

Gives your gums time to partially heal before wearing your denture

Have to go without teeth for 2 – 3 weeks, sometimes more

The decision you make regarding immediate or post-immediate dentures will be determined by your unique situation and with the assistance of your denturist.
